Oh, two thoughts in one day...maybe Wudchuk is wrong and being married doesn't make you dumb and suck away your soul.
I just looked up United's baggage info and see that while you have to pay for every checked bag in the US, if you are traveling to Mexico you get two checked bags FOR FREE. Yay, finally something that costs the right amount.
If anyone has questions or needs to know limitations restrictions (I'm thinking of Andrea and her huge 200lb luggage), check this out:

If anyone isn't flying United, here is some info on the policy for all airlines:

Ohter info, for those who wish to bring back some souvenours, no drugs, game hunting trophies, food or seeds, or pets.

As for booze (tequila) it looks like you can bring back 1L without a problem, after that it could get taxed since it's not duty free. Based on some things I read, it looks like they could let you bring more as long as it falls into the $800 worth of merchandise you can bring back duty free.

If you're implying that anything over 1 litre of booze wouldn't get taxed because it can fall into the total merchendise, that is incorrect, per the last two sentences below (and dammit, I swear it used to be 3 litres):
ReplyDelete"In brief, for both alcohol and tobacco, the quantities discussed in this booklet as being eligible for duty-free treatment may be included in your $800 or $1,600 exemption, just as any other purchase would be. But unlike other kinds of merchandise, amounts beyond those discussed here as being duty-free are taxed, even if you have not exceeded, or even met, your personal exemption. For example, if your exemption is $800 and you bring back three liters of wine and nothing else, two of those liters will be dutiable."
