So there is a lot of conflicting information out there on Azul Fives, here is the real scoop:
Azul Fives is not done right now (I guess they work on Mexican time). It was supposed to be finished Dec 1, but due to some customs issues some kitchen items are not at the resort (right now). However, upon speaking with Irina and a few Azul employees today, we are being told the resort will be ready for us on Jan 29th. I feel about 75% confident in that response. Because of that we have a backup plan of Azul Sensitori (another Azul/Karisma resort a few miles away from Fives). Sensitori is another 5 star resort that is also new (just opened up on Nov 1, 2008). If further delays with Fives cause us to be bumped over, I feel very confident that the vacation will be equally as awesome. Krissy feels the same, so you know it has to be true (as she would just punch me if she felt her wedding was being messed up).
We are going to continue to bug the poop out of our contacts at Azul/Karisma to get regular updates on the completion of Fives and will update as soon as we have additional info.
update: Ceasars Palace and MGM's sportsbook are both giving 4:1 odds that Azul Fives will be ready on time. The odds just keep getting better.
